Full Metal Jacket

Well this weekend was a lot of fun.  I went to Monica's which was really fun.  I took along Bryan and Nate, and met up with Brandon and Chad, Alison and Erin.  I met some new people from different schools and it turned into a pretty good night.

Nate spent the night and then we went to Christina's to feed the cat.  We ate some pancakes and Hot Pockets. I love Hot Pockets!

Saturday night was the night of my NHS date with Beth.  It was a lot of fun and I'm glad I got to spend some time with her.  Deighan and Jess were with us. All I have to say is "I'll have the soup of today."

Sunday morning was the annual Strides of March.  I have been running in it for the past 5 years.  I got a great purple shirt this year.

Tonight I went to the Barons game. As usual they lost.  After that I watched Full Metal Jacket.  It's a great movie but kind of sad.

I'm going to South's Prom with Alison which will be fun.  Hopefully we can go to Mentor's together too and join up with Nate and Christina, Bryan and Michelle, and many more.

That's really my weekend in a nutshell.  Action packed that's for sure.

Just remember this is my rifle and this is my gun.  This one's for shooting and this one's for fun.

Is anyone else as sick of high school yet as me??  I really am getting ready to head out to college and basically start a new life.  After being present at a "great" party last night, I really realized I can't stand this anymore.  What I saw and who I was with really drove the nail home.

Number 1:  High School is overrated!  Every concept that people make it out to be is crap.  Anyone who says these are the best years of your life doesn't have a future.  And if these are the best years of my life, please end my life right now.

Number 2:  High school drama.  Not the class but the people that make their life dramatic for no reason.  Drama sucks.  TNT sucks.  Ya they know drama.  But high school drama is the worst.  It is pointless.  Girls hate girls because of the most ridiculous reasons and broken couples fight back and forth just to get back together and sleep with eachother.  Now I have never experienced this drama first hand but I hear about it and see it every day.  Going back to last night at this party, Girls sit RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STEPS CRYING OVER SOME RIDICULOUS THING!! For one, get the fuck out of my way. Don't sit right in the middle of traffic.  Another thing, these just happened to be the "popular" junior girls that hang out with the senior guys.  So as I'm walking down, being that I am not one of the senior guys associated with them, they look at me like "what the hell are you doing?" and I'm like "Your treatin' me all wrong.  Do it again and I'll stab you in the face with a soldering iron.  Can your mama sew?  BAM!! Get her to sew that!" (That is from Joe Dirt by the way, I'm not that crazy).  So anyways I really think "don't give me that look you stupid slut.  And don't think your better than me because I know I will and do have a better life than you."

Number 3:  Lots of drunk people!! Now there were people there that I'm friends with and was glad to see, even if they were intoxicated.  But when kids from college show up and stuff and lots of kids that you aren't used to seeing, it gets kind of weird.  Now I don't mind these people.  All of them say hi to me and I do the same back, but in the end, if we don't ever see eachother again, it won't really matter.

This is about all I can think of right now.  Now I am glad that I have made the friends I have and that we get to hang out and stuff like that.  But when all of this stuff starts to happen I just really want to get out of this.

Last night student athletes had a meeting at the school regarding the upcoming levy, and how it can affect sports in the future.  As of right now, things don't look too good for this levy.  Here are a few things people should know about this levy.

Number 1: If this levy fails, not only are the schools screwed, the whole community is.  People don't realize that this will drop property value.  No one will want to move here and people won't be able to sell their homes.  This right here is the #1 incentive to vote yes for this levy.  This is what we should be advertising.  People are right when they say the first thing that is thrown at them is think of the kids.  Sadly these people care more about their life than some kids.  They need to be informed that their property is also at stake.

Number 2: People want the board to resign before they vote yes.  Here is a simple solution.  Vote yes and pass this levy, keep the schools from going down the drains taking the community with it, and wait the 8 months until November and vote for a new candidate.  As was stated, two positions ran unopposed last election.  The board can't screw up again if they aren't elected, and 8 months is not enough time for new problems to form with the new money.  This current problem is almost a decade old.  8 months is minor to the time it takes to really screw up.

Number 3: Bite the bullet and move on.  People keep complaining hoping for a change.  This problem is real and won't magically go away.  If we don't come together as a community and try to solve this problem, we will stand no chance.  If the levy is passed, the community and schools will grow stronger in a few years, a new board will be running, and greater precautions and awareness will surely come about to prevent this problem.  Look at the United States after September 11.  Greater security arose in the airports, the economy slowly grew out of the hole, and now people are aware of the possible risk and help to prevent it.

What Mentor needs to do is inform the potential negative voters that they too will feel the effects.  If we don't get the votes, the community as a whole will go under.  It has happened in school districts everywhere.  A failing school district will surely bring a poor community.  Look at districts in Cleveland.  They have poor communities where poor schooling exists.  Euclid went from an outstanding national district to a poorer community because of a failing school district.  We need to act now and join as a community to pass Issue 2 on March 2.

Ya you see that!  The Darkness came out in September yet no one cared then.  It wasn't until now that people went for them.  Ya i bought the CD today but I've had a burned copy since October.  And just FYI, Fungus Amongus is the first and S.C.I.E.N.C.E. is the second. Don't want any confusion with the type or controversy.
